Their world

Luminara, world of the energy beings Our story

A magnetosphere world bathed in the light of its star. Energy is life. Light is language. Harmony is law. This is the planet Lumina and Spark call home — the one they left, on purpose, to come and help ours.

Could a world like this exist? Almost real

Magnetospheres are completely real — Earth has one, and it's why we're alive: it deflects the storm of charged particles our Sun throws at us. When some of those particles do sneak in, you get auroras— Earth's own light show. Jupiter's magnetosphere is so huge that if your eyes could see it, it would look bigger than the full Moon in our sky. A planet with a stronger field around a brighter star really would have permanent auroral storms and rivers of glowing plasma tracing its field lines. Beings made of that light? That part is our story.

What lives there

Everything on Luminara is living energy. Prism whales swim slowly through the auroral sky, splitting the starlight into color as it passes through them. Thunder deer graze on static charge and leap between the floating islands. Static moths gather around the crystal spires at night — which is how you find your way home in a storm. Countless other energy life forms share the world, and no one owns any of it.

The crystal spiresare natural resonators — they harness and store the star's energy the way trees here store sunlight. The energy citiesaren't built from anything: they are patterns of light held in stable resonance, like a song that never stops being sung. And through it all run the rivers of photons, streams of light flowing along the magnetic field lines like water flows downhill.

Growing up on Luminara

Young energy beings feed on light — from sun fountains, from light fruit, from magnetic storms (the sweetest kind), and from ancient energy wells that have held starlight for a million years.

School is nothing like a classroom. Children enter the memory fields— living archives where history, science, and feeling are experienced as immersive light. You don't read about the past on Luminara. You stand inside it. That's why the sisters say memory is identity: you are, quite literally, what you remember.

And every being carries a home spark— a captured flicker of Luminara's own light, worn close. It connects them to home and keeps them whole. The sisters' glass necklaceshold theirs — and yes, that's where Spark chose her name.

The dangers of their world

Luminara is safe — but not tame. Its people watch for dark matter storms that roll in without light or warning, shadow creatures that drink energy and leave silence, gravity wells that can bend a traveler off course forever, and entropy sickness — the slow unraveling that comes for any pattern that stops taking care of itself.

That last one matters on Earth too: our whole world feels "energetically cold" to a Laser Girl, so here they must fight entropy sickness every single day. More about that in the FAQ →

Why they came to Earth

From the memory fields, the sisters saw a beautiful young world in danger — a world of matter, at war with itself, that still had a chance. They came to help, to heal, and to learn. Not because their home was lost. Because ours isn't. Yet.
